Meet Toni Da Silva

Creator of Hester & Hank

Hester & Hank started a year ago with the idea to repurpose leftover wood. My husband, Nate Da Silva, is a woodworker and owner of Dusty Stache Woodwork. At the end of every job, we were left with cut wood pieces too small to use for larger furniture builds. That’s when I had the idea to turn these smaller pieces into earrings, art, cutting boards, and other small, handmade wood goods.

The name of our business is everything that’s close to my heart. “Hester” is the name of the creek that runs behind our home and woodworking studio in beautiful Soquel. I come from a large family of country music signers and there’s nothing I love more than our family and friends playing music together at the creek. “Hank” is paying homage to my family, as I grew up listening to them singing Hank Williams songs and all the old-time country music.
